Message from the Principal

We are glad that you are visiting our website and learning more about Ivey Lane Elementary School, where everyone is an Essential Piece.

The staff, students and parents of our school are proud of the academic achievement the students at Ivey Lane Elementary School have made over the past few years.  We strive to educate the “whole child”, which includes the social, emotional, as well as the academic elements.  Ivey Lane Elementary School has earned a grade of "C" grade by the Florida Department of Education for the 2007-2008 school year.  Innovative teaching methods and programs include the Reading Counts and Classworks computer programs, and an after-school tutoring program for students in grades K-5.  We also have the 21st Century Learning Grant, which is an after-school and Saturday program that includes tutoring and enrichment programs for students in grades 3-5.  We are implementing the Write from the Beginning Program, Science Snapshots, and Write Score progress monitoring to ensure that student needs are met.  The Ivey Lane’s curriculum is enhanced with our high quality Art, Media and Physical Education programs provided on a weekly basis.  These programs help to make learning meaningful as well as enjoyable for students.  Our teachers receive extensive professional development training in order to stay abreast of best educational practices.  Our goal is to ensure that our teachers are preparing our students to meet the challenges of a growing curriculum and rigorous state assessments.

The doors of Ivey Lane Elementary School are always open to visitors. However, we do require that visitors sign-in at the office for a visitor’s badge in order to ensure the safety of our children.  Feel free to speak to administration regarding our curriculum and programs.  Volunteers are welcome!  We are proud of our students and the efforts of our staff.

Thank you for giving us the privilege of working with your children.  We look forward to working with you to provide the finest education possible for our students.

Sincerely,
Joscelyn Harold
Principal
